Programming in Helms: the workout builder, progression and exercise videos
Can I programme supersets, RPE, tempo and percentages in Helms?
Yes. The Helms workout builder handles supersets, RPE, tempo, percentage of 1RM, rest times and set types like drop sets and rest-pause, with drag and drop and reusable template days.
It doesn't do RIR as its own field yet, so coaches who programme by RIR write it in the notes.
Start freeDoes the Helms exercise library have demo videos?
Not built in. Helms starts you with a library of 873 exercises that you can edit, and you attach your own YouTube, Vimeo or Loom link to any exercise.
You can't upload a video file straight to an exercise yet. Most other platforms ship a video library out of the box, so if you don't have your own demos that's a real gap.
Can Helms progress my clients' weights automatically?
Yes. You set a double, rep or RPE progression rule on the exercise once, and Helms reads the client's own last log and offers the next weight with the reason beside it.
Anything ambiguous holds rather than guessing. The cost of holding is one repeated session, and the cost of guessing is a number nobody chose, under a barbell.
Can clients move a session to another day?
Yes. A Helms client can move a session within the week themselves, and the programme isn't rewritten: you're told it happened and undo puts it back.
Is there a rest timer for clients?
Yes. The Helms client logger has a rest timer that runs from the rest time you set on the exercise.
Can clients see their personal bests and progress?
Clients see a new-best marker the moment they beat a lift, a recap after each workout and their history on every exercise. The strength and volume charts are on the coach side only for now.
Clients do get bodyweight charts with rolling averages on their own progress page.
Can I send clients video feedback on their form?
Yes. You record your screen and your face in Helms, and the client sees it at the top of the training day it applies to, with a transcript and the action items pulled out.
Clips over 25 MB aren't transcribed, though they still play.
Does Helms handle machine settings like seat height?
Yes. Settings like seat height carry forward on that machine, notes stay with the day they were written, and Prime or Strive pin-loaded stacks log pin by pin.
