Nutrition coaching in Helms: macros, meal plans and food logging
Can clients track macros in Helms?
Yes. Helms clients log food against the macro targets you set, from a USDA-based food database, by scanning a barcode or by typing it in.
On Coach and above they can also log a meal from a photo, which uses AI to estimate it. If they log the wrong portion, they can correct the meal afterwards.
Start freeDoes Helms integrate with MyFitnessPal?
Not as a live sync. You can import a client's MyFitnessPal or Cronometer food diary as a CSV, and food logged in another app can reach Helms through Apple Health on iPhone.
If a live MyFitnessPal sync is essential, Trainerize, TrueCoach and Everfit all describe one on their help sites (Trainerize, TrueCoach, Everfit). Kahunas says it doesn't integrate with MyFitnessPal (Kahunas help).
Can I build meal plans with macro targets in Helms?
Yes. Helms has a meal-plan builder with macro targets, recipes and a grocery list, and clients can tick off plan meals or log their own food against the same targets.
So it suits a fixed meal plan and flexible dieting equally well. Supplement protocols sit alongside the plan.
Can I set different macros for training days and rest days?
Yes. Helms lets you set day types with their own targets, by training or rest day, by weekday, or both, so a Saturday refeed can win over the general training-day target.
How does Helms set a new client's starting macros?
Helms works out starting macros from your own intake form, using the protein and fat numbers you set for your business rather than somebody else's defaults. You see the result before the client does.
Helms can also suggest target changes as a client's data comes in, and every suggestion waits for you to accept or dismiss it.
Is nutrition an extra cost in Helms?
No. Meal plans, macro targets and food logging are on every Helms plan, Free included, and only the meal-photo AI needs Coach or above.
For comparison, on 2026-10-20 Trainerize listed Advanced Nutrition Coaching at $20 or $45 a month and Everfit listed Meal Plans from $39 a month as add-ons (Trainerize pricing, Everfit pricing).
Can I see what my clients actually ate?
Yes. Every food a client logs in Helms shows in their weekly review, day by day, against the targets you set.
